The Center for Teaching & Learning is offering a ten-week hybrid workshop focusing on the development and implementation of hybrid courses (courses that blend online and face-to-face instruction) and fully online courses. Faculty from all academic disciplines are invited to apply by completing this form:

No experience teaching online is necessary, but space is limited so we will give priority to participants who will teach at least one hybrid or online course in fall 2018.
The ten-week workshop will orient participants to online pedagogies through both face-to-face and online synchronous and asynchronous work.
As participants in this workshop, faculty will:
- develop an online or hybrid course that will promote successful learning outcomes and provide a positive learning experience for students;
- demonstrate competency in using Blackboard as both learner and instructor;
- demonstrate competency in choosing and using digital tools for teaching online;
- design effective online learning activities that engage students in the learning process, and support achievement of intended student learning outcomes;
- reflect on being both online learner and teacher; and
- contribute to in-person and online class discussions about teaching and learning online.
The workshop will include five face-to-face sessions (January 5 and 26; February 23; March 23; April 13) and five asynchronous online sessions that will include individual and group work (January 12 and 19; February 9; March 2 and 16). Workshop participants will also have access to sustained technological support and pedagogical advice from the Center for Teaching & Learning and receive a copy of the book, Minds Online, by Michelle Miller.
Upon successful completion of this intensive workshop (attendance of at least four face-to-face sessions and completion of at least 90% of the workshop activities), participants will receive a Certificate of Completion and the choice of either an iPad Pro or a Microsoft Surface Pro.
