As you may be aware, Blackboard will be unavailable from 6:00 am Thursday, December 27 through the close of business on Friday, December 28 for a scheduled upgrade. During this time you will not be able to upload grades or export any content. With that in mind, the Center for Teaching & Learning offers the following checklist for wrapping up the semester.
Between now until December 27, 6am:
- Process Scantron sheets
If you have any ungraded Scantron sheets, scan them now following the instructions listed here: http://ctl.qc.cuny.edu/scantron/. Record the grades in Blackboard before 6am December 27.
- Download grade data from Blackboard for offline use
Follow these instructions to download grade data: https://youtu.be/Ex-m0HUSzmA. This way you will have them at hand when you enter them in CUNYfirst.
From December 14th to December 28:
Enter grades into CUNYfirst using one of the methods listed below. CUNYfirst Grade Rosters open on December 14, 2018 and close on December 28, 2018.
The following tasks can be done before or after the Blackboard upgrade period:
- Export your Blackboard course
If you are teaching the same course in the Spring, and want to avoid uploading the same content, export a Blackboard course package then import it into a blank course shell for the next semester.
- Archive your Blackboard course
If you want to preserve the course structure and the student performance records, make an archive copy of your fall course.
